Bangladesh: The forgotten Jihad frontier

November 9th, 2013

Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina

Over the last few years I’ve been corresponding with several concerned citizens of Bangladesh. There’s no doubt these citizens have sought me out for no other reason than I have a blog, and am willing to share their stories because they believe most of the western mainstream media won’t. I must admit, before my correspondences with these men, I knew very little about Bangladesh and its 160 million residents.

Bangladesh’s female Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, and her ruling party the Awami League have accomplished something very rare in an Islamic country. They have so far successfully stood up to radical Islamists and barred religious parties from using Islam and Sharia law as a political tool to undermine the country’s secular constitution and democratic process.

The Bangladesh national election is looming, and the two main opposition parties to the Awami League, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its religious Jihadi friends the Jamaat-e-Islami party teamed up this past week to put the country’s capital Dhaka in paralyzing fear, as many residents are too afraid to leave their homes out of the fear of rioting Islamists in the streets.

The Muslim on Hindu attacks have become more common and intense recently after the country sentenced two prominent and influential Islamist leaders to death for their role in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. The two men were convicted for the abduction and killing of 18 pro-independence activists, among the dead included academics and journalists.

The opposition BNP has also threatened the Awami League, that unless Hasina relinquishes her power, its supporters will whip up even more nationwide strikes and unrest.

Prime Minister Hasina however has vowed to follow through with the upcoming election even though the BNP is threatening would be voters, and asking fellow supporters to come prepared with arms.

So far the recent protests and unrest have led to the deaths of 150 people, with more than 2,000 people being reported injured.

If Prime Minister Hasina and her Awami party are forced out of office, overnight we could see the emergence of another radical Islamist state much like Pakistan leaving millions of Bengalis in peril.

Protest in Calgary: “Zionists and US” behind the military coup in Egypt

August 26th, 2013

Please note, as Jonathan Halevi points out, none of the Zionist conspiracy talk was reported on by the mainstream media covering the event.

A group of Arab Canadians gathered once again (August 24, 2013) in Calgary to protest against the military coup in Egypt and the Syrian dictatorship that resorted last week to the use of chemical weapons targeting it own civilians.

United Church Plans Israel Boycott … Again!

June 3rd, 2013

Canada’s largest Protestant church has identified three Israeli companies it may target for a boycott over the firms’ operations in Jewish settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

If only we could get the United Church to condemn decapitations, stonings, rapes, forced conversions, suicide bombings, anti-Semitism, etc.

Ah well…. Pick on the little guy…. much easier.

The Interfaith Racket: Passport to Credibility

May 16th, 2013

by Douglas Murray

Interfaith dialogue is one of those things it can seem impossible to be against. What reasonable, rational person could possibly object to people of different faiths coming together and discussing their differences? Well, as with any negotiation, the problem only really comes if one individual, or group of individuals, heads into the discussion ignorantly or naively while another knows exactly what he is planning to get from it.

Female student arrested for dressing up as ‘Pope’ naked from waist down and handing out condoms

May 12th, 2013

In big trouble: A Carnegie Mellon University student was charged Friday with indecent exposure by campus police after a Catholic bishop complained about her parading nude from the waist down while dressed as the pope

Oh how brave and smart this young lady must be.  I’m sure the Prophet Muhammed will be targeted next……. Left-wing student organizations are getting so old and tiresome.

A Carnegie Mellon University student was  charged Friday with indecent exposure by campus police after a Catholic bishop  complained about her parading nude from the waist down while dressed as the  pope.

A male student who was nude also was charged,  but it wasn’t immediately clear what he was doing during the Pittsburgh school’s  spring fine arts parade last month.

Katherine O’Connor, 19 was arrested after she  paraded nude, handing out condoms with a cross shaved into her pubic  hair.

A Canadian “peace group” acting on behalf of the Iranian and Syrian dictatorships

May 12th, 2013

An oddball Hamilton, Ontario activist named Ken Stone is part of the so-called Canadian Peace Alliance, being the spokesman for its Hamilton Coalition to Stop the War branch. He has been the guest of the Iranian dictatorship and upon his return to Canada, complained bitterly about being asked questions by CSIS about his all-expenses paid visit to the world’s leading state-sponsor of terrorism.
